Butterfly Kiss Wines

When Diageo Wines introduced their brand Butterfly Kiss they wanted a way to communicate that this wine is a delicious escape from the everyday and to bring out the beauty of the label. We were inspired by the texture of antique hand colored postcards and playful collage. We signed up for a month of Shutterstock, and just started pulling tons of images — we needed to make the worlds really full and rich with objects. The Photoshop quick mask tool made all these cut outs go pretty fast, which was great for piling on the elements. We found the music from Looq Records Licensing site and it went perfectly. Some people at Diageo later asked if it was commissioned for this piece.

Sara Desmond, the brand marketing manager we worked with at Diageo, had this to say about the project, “We first hired Kia to create videos for two of our new wine brands that required out-of-the-box creativity and big energy, while of course on a restrictive budget and timeline. Not only was it a pleasure to work with her team, the results were exactly what we needed and game changing in our marketing programs. Directed by Kia Simon, Momu’s music video for their song The Dive:
The dancers…swoop and glide around each other…as if…free falling through air, Kia took that footage and digitally hand-manipulated it, frame by frame, to blot out anything that might resemble the earth or earthly things. So you see no ground, no sky, no objects, the dancers neither come nor go, they just float in a nameless blue-white space
