Disarmed Preview Screening
San Francisco, CA –The hotly-anticipated preview screening of Disarmed was an overwhelming success as Kia Simon unveiled her sweet story of love and limb.

In a special evening for all involved, Disarmed was screened twice for large and enthusiastic crowds at the 111 Minna Gallery in San Francisco. Director Kia Simon and actor/writers Robin Honan and Steven Anacker were in attendance, as well as many others who helped make the film possible.

During two extended question/answer sessions with the audience, Kia, Robin and Steven discussed how improv sessions were used to create the script, all the joys of shooting in Oakland, and the rare psychological condition Body Identity Integrity Disorder, which plays such a large role in the movie’s plot.

Complete with 3 DJs, a full bar, and even a popcorn machine, 111 Minna proved to be an ideal location to mix cinema with celebration. Stephanie Morgan (2nd Unit Camera on Disarmed) roamed the gallery snapping pictures. Eric Pearson (Composer) was very pleased with the power of the sound system. Mike Coyne, the designer of the striking Disarmed poster, was also in attendance. His poster was a huge hit with the crowd and a much sought after item.

But the star of the night was the film itself. Said San Francisco writer Evany Thomas, “…it was truly delightful, funny and well-paced…The movie just swept me away for its entire 20-minute span.”
