For this
music video for Jondi
& Spesh of Loöq
Records, director Kia Simon created
a mildly disturbing tale of stalker amour
to match the darkly lush song.
A girl
meets a boy on the underground, loses
him on the streets of San Francisco, lets
herself into his apartment, then finds
him again in a chinese food/donut shop.
We
shot this in 3 1/2 days on 16mm, 8mm,
and DVCam. In a nightclub, the chinese
food/donut shop, a sound stage dressed
as a Lawrence Welk set, a liquor store,
on MUNI (San Francisco's underground metro),
numerous on-the-street locations, and
in storefronts with projection and video
monitors playing behind.
"The
Sway" includes intriguing props:
the poster our protaganist steals from
the liquor store features vocalist Alysoun
Quinby selling cognac, and that's Jondi
& Spesh on the stand-up selling Loöq
It's Beer. |
